Golf in South Walton just got even better! Located in Santa Rosa Beach on Scenic 30A, Santa Rosa Golf Club is a member-owned, semi-private golf club. Spanning over 85 acres and surrounded by Northwest Florida’s serene landscape, the club has come a long way since its inception as a nine-hole course in 1969. It was later converted into an 18-hole golf course, incorporating the coast’s sugar-white sands and tropical habitat into its design. And most recently, in 2021, the club and course underwent a complete multi-million dollar renovation.
Bergin Golf Designs, founded by Bill Bergin in 1994, spearheaded the renovation of the Santa Rosa Golf Club. Bergin has years of technical experience in designing courses. He and his team spent about ten months enhancing the course. The project included adding an acre to the green complexes and updates to all 18 holes. The updated course is challenging for expert golfers but still fun and friendly for the more leisure player. The changes to the greens created large playing areas allowing a variety of recovery options for golfers. Additionally, the renovations complement the six-hole short course known as The Loop, which Bill Bergin also designed in 2019. With two bunkers and chip and pitch shots opportunities, the 6,200 square foot short course is great for practice and training.
The beachfront club and restaurant—aptly named Vue on 30A—was also included in the latest renovations. Perched upon a sugary sand dune overlooking the glittering waters of the gulf, Vue on 30A offers club members and the public incredible beach views and a first-class dining experience. Club members also enjoy a private pool and beach access.
With its picturesque coastal setting, elevation changes, and appeal to golfers of every skill level, it’s no surprise that the Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club was named the “Best Golf Course” by Destin Magazine.
