In South Walton, your July 4th celebrations will depend on which beach or beaches you’re most interested in hanging out on.
Situated on the eastern end of the 30A just past Seacrest and Alys Beaches, Rosemary Beach has its own all-day celebration for Independence Day. Beginning at 7:30am, the beach becomes the site of the Rosemary Beach Bike Decorating Contest & Breakfast. Then, there’s a Bike Parade at 8:30am that goes through the Town Center. From 9:00am until 6:00pm, visitors of all ages can enjoy the old-fashioned and family-friendly activities at the Field Day on Western Green, such as water balloon toss, games, prizes, sack races, and more. At 6:00pm, Western Green holds a concert with a local band as a headliner, playing until the fireworks are launched at 8:45pm.
In addition to the festivities at Rosemary Beach, you can catch the South Walton 4th of July Parade at 8:00am. The parade begins at Seagrove Plaza and concludes at Seaside Beach. After the parade, visitors can enjoy face painting and other fun activities, then watch a live music concert at 7:00pm and see an awesome fireworks display over the Gulf of Mexico at 8:30pm.
Grayton Beach also has its own July 4th parade that begins at the famous Red Bar at 8:30am. A laid-back and casual parade, Grayton Beach’s parade does not require registration, and many participants simply don their most patriotic gear and join in on the fun. At the conclusion of the parade, you can purchase popsicles, lemonade, and other hot weather treats, or take a dip in the gulf.
Near Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach holds its own 4th of July Concert from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on the Alys Beach Amphiteatre. This free and public event showcases the talent of local musicians, then ends the festivities with incredible fireworks. Bring a towel and chair and enjoy the show!
